Since 1993, I have provided consulting and psychotherapy services with individuals, couples/families, and groups. My goal is helping others obtain a more satisfying life, not only through symptom relief, but also by achieving a balanced and successful way of being with themselves, others, and the world.

Focus areas may include but are not limited to:
Depression – Low self-worth, decreased energy, self-criticism, hopelessness, sleep and appetite disturbances, mood swings, grief and loss.
Keith Auerbach, Psy.D., San Diego Psychotherapist

Education: Doctor of Psychology, Master of Arts in Psychology, Bachelor of Arts in Psychology

  Anxiety – Worry/stress, social anxiety/shyness, obsessive-compulsive, panic attacks, phobias, post-traumatic stress.
Anger management – Frustration, irritability, rage, rigidity, impulsivity, destructive venting, passive-aggressiveness, resentment, blaming.
Addictions – Substances/chemicals, internet, food, shopping, gambling, work.
Relationships – Problems with communication, trust, intimacy, jealousy, parenting, divorce, isolation.
Professional development – Career exploration, job advancement, employment issues.
Personal growth – Time and life-management, organization, life transitions, identity issues, spiritual growth/development, peak-performance.
Meditation – Formal and informal mindfulness practices to increase self-awareness, inner peace, and spirituality.

My therapy approach integrates mind, body and spirit, emphasizing your relationship with yourself and others, gaining insight into your thoughts/emotions, and focusing on your physical and spiritual well-being. Western psychological therapies, primarily cognitive-behavioral (CBT), interpersonal, and existential-humanistic, will be integrated with Eastern contemplative practices such as mindfulness training.
