In addition to traditional therapies, I use neurobiofeedback, which is exercise for the brain. Also called neurofeedback (biofeedback to the brain), it provides training in brain selfregulation and fitness. Optimum brain self-regulation improves brain function and thereby enhances mental performance, emotional control, and physiological stability.

Neurobiofeedback uses non-invasive computer games/exercises and music to monitor brain activity and rewards healthy brain function. By targeting bioelectrical functioning, clients are often able to reduce or eliminate medication.

Individuals of all ages can benefit greatly from the use of EEG training. Neurofeedback addresses childhood, adolescent, adult, and senior problems such as nightmares, attention deficits (ADD, ADHD), concentration and focus, disruptive and/or oppositional behavior, anxiety, worry, depression, addictions, memory loss, eating, panic and sleep disorders, anger, mood swings, migraines/headaches, stress, PTSD, bipolar issues, obsessions and compulsions. Brain trauma, strokes, autism, and seizures also benefit from EEG therapy. “Baby Boomers” use Neurofeedback to improve memory and mental clarity, and reduce the likelihood of symptoms associated with aging.

Regardless of whichever treatment modality we choose, the goal of treatment is better functioning, increased self-esteem, and a feeling of greater control.
