have over five years of experience in the field of therapy for
individuals, couples, and families from diverse backgrounds. I also do
dream work. We work towards the reducing of symptoms or distressing
behaviors, including trauma, and we move towards improving personal and
professional relationships. Some frequent areas include addictions,
grief, anger, and being stuck in one's personal creativity. I have had
specialized training in working with individuals (both victims and
perpetrators) suffering from the effects of relationship and family
violence. In helping couples and families I emphasize valuing the
perspectives of all equally, rebuilding constructive ways to
communicate about issues of infidelity, difficulties with intimacy,
step-family stresses, boundary-setting, adolescent rebellion, and loss
of interest in one's partner with life-cycle changes. My education in psychology was completed at the Pacifica Graduate Institute, a worldwide center for depth psychology. I am currently a training candidate in adult analysis at the San Diego Psychoanalytic Society and Institute. I also hold a doctorate in English from New York University and a masters in art from San Diego State University, where I have been on the faculty for many years, all of which has given me a broad background in the arts and humanities. I offer therapy in Spanish. My fees are negotiable.
